South Inner City Drug and Alcohol Task Force (SICDATF) is one of fourteen Local Drug and Alcohol Task Forces (LDATFs) established in 1997 to combat substance misuse. It operates under HSE Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO) 7. SICDATF collaborates with community, voluntary, and statutory stakeholders to provide services in the South Inner City (SIC) and reduce drug-related harms. Its role includes implementing the National Drugs Strategy, promoting evidence-based strategies, supporting community-based responses, monitoring drug and alcohol misuse, addressing emerging issues, and evaluating funded projects for necessary changes in funding allocations.

Smart D8 is a population health and wellbeing demonstrator located in Ireland’s capitol city, Dublin. Focused on a diverse city centre population of 45,000, Smart D8 brings together a range of key stakeholders from industry, academia, clinical settings, public bodies and citizens. The breadth of the collaboration reflects all aspects of the living and working worlds. It provides a broader perspective on sustaining health and well-being as well as the treatment of illness in the community. Leveraging the range of health institutions in the district, Smart D8 focuses on working with local stakeholders to deliver projects in the areas of community well-being and health innovation, identifying itself as a collaborative initiative with the purpose of investigating how smart technology and new and innovative approaches can be used to improve citizens’ health and wellbeing at scale. Smart D8 applies a people-centric approach, with the engagement and active participation of the local community at its core. Using insights from direct engagement with the Dublin 8 community, Smart D8 is focused on pilots involving industry and academia that target connected patients in the community, healthy ageing, women’s health, mental health and post-pandemic population health.
